WHAT IS MICRO-NEEDLING?

During the micro-needling procedure, an electric skin needling pen with 12 fine needles is glided across the skin on the face and or neck. This procedure helps to stimulate the formation of new elastin and collagen fibers as well as new capillaries for improved blood supply. The procedure results in healthy, glowing skin.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A MICRO-NEEDLING PROCEDURE:

Temporary inflammation (redness and mild swelling) decreases 12-48 hours. To reduce visible redness, we recommend hyaluronic acid after the procedure and protect the skin with a zinc-based sunscreen. Makeup can be applied after the inflammation has decreased in 12-48 hours.

IS MICRO-NEEDLING PAINFUL?

Prior to the treatment, a topical numbing medication can be applied to minimize pain that is felt during the procedure.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET THE MICRO-NEEDLING PROCEDURE?

Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction we recommend starting with 3 treatments, but with 4-6 weeks between each treatment. For scar reduction, an average of 3-6 treatments are recommended. The number of treatments recommended will depend on how each individual responds to the treatments, and the desired outcome. Micro-needling can be performed on the face, neck, décolleté, and abdomen. Please avoid use of AHA’s (glycolic Acid), retinol, acidic or “active” ingredients for 3 days after the procedure. Exposure to the sun should also be avoided and zinc-based sunscreen should be used until the skin has healed.
